Busted! 5 Myths about HR

Myth #1 – HR and IT Don’t Work Well Together

At AmeriSource, we know HR and IT are two of the foundational pillars in every company, people and systems.  In today’s world, it is imperative that they walk hand in hand, and understand each other on a very personal level.  Employees must know how to use systems, and the systems must be built in a way that services their users.  When this relationship is solid the company runs as smooth as silk!  That’s something our Director of Operations knows firsthand.  Her career is HR and her husband’s is IT.  They have worked together in four companies strengthening the bond between people and systems.

Myth #2 – HR is Just a Paper Pusher

It’s been proven that completing people processes through manual forms increases the work effort at least four-fold! It also increases the number of errors in that process. Focus on the ease and efficiency that comes from automating the processes within the employee life cycle. 

Myth #3 – HR Doesn’t Understand the Connection to Business

Understanding what’s needed to keep your people healthy, informed and paid is fundamental to HR. Taking the time to understand and help them connect to your business and systems is critical!  Remember, Myth #1 & 2?  Learn where your people and systems intersect and help to smooth out any wrinkles!

Myth #4 – HR Just Hires People

While HR can absolutely hire people for you, the HR department – or outsourced company – can be SO much more.  Companies like ours can create “You-Nique” programs for each client based on their specific needs.  No two businesses are alike, and we would never ask you to climb into a “box” of services.  Be it a short-term gap fill, or a long-term engagement or anything in between, look to your HR company to become an extension of your team.

Myth #5 – HR Concerns Weigh Heavily on the Business
